Set Availability and Scheduling Constraints
Constraints express the rules the schedule must respect. Availability is a separate booking-focused workflow for defining when qualified providers can be booked.
Set booking availability
Use Availability when you need recurring appointment windows for a provider.
- Confirm that at least one bookable service exists and that the provider is qualified for it.
- Open Availability and select the provider.
- Choose Add Availability.
- Select the days and start/end times for the recurring window, then save.
- Edit or remove a window when the provider’s booking hours change.
Days in Basilias use ISO weekday numbering whenever a configuration exposes numeric days: 0 is Monday and 6 is Sunday. In the interface, use the weekday labels rather than converting JavaScript weekday numbers yourself.
Add a scheduling constraint
- Open Schedule Management and select Constraints.
- Choose Add Constraint.
- Select the constraint type, complete its settings, and give it a useful description.
- Choose the priority:
- Must for a rule that cannot be violated.
- Best effort for a preference the generator should optimize when possible.
- Save the constraint and include it when generating the next draft.

Keep constraints workable
Start with the rules that protect coverage, eligibility, rest, and policy. Add fairness and preference rules after the essentials are feasible. When a draft fails, check the date range, service coverage, qualified workforce, and the combination of hard rules before loosening a policy.
Recurring booking availability is also available as the Open Availability constraint type for scheduling and booking workflows. Keep it aligned with the provider availability you intend to offer.
