SchedulingRequest and approve time off

Request and Approve Time Off

Time-off requests give clinicians a clear way to communicate unavailability and give approvers a record of the decision.

Request time off

  1. Open Time-Off Requests.
  2. Select Request Time Off.
  3. Enter the requested date/time window and an optional reason.
  4. Submit the request.
  5. Use the status filter to check whether it is Pending, Approved, or Denied.

You can also cancel a request when it is no longer needed.

Review a request

Approvers use the time-off approval workflow to search requests, review the clinician, requested window, and reason, then approve or deny the request. A denial requires a reason so the clinician has a clear explanation.

Keep the schedule in sync

Review time off before generating or approving a draft. A request is not a substitute for checking the schedule: if a new or changed request affects an already published period, create a modification draft and route it through the normal review process.

For recurring patterns that are not leave requests—for example, a clinician who never works Tuesdays—use Recurring Unavailability in availability and constraints.
